Local. Beautiful.

Have you ever wondered where your cut flowers come from?

According to numerous data, over 80% of flowers sold in Canada and the United States are imported from other countries. There has been a few pioneer flower farms growing local flowers for over decades here in the Maritimes proving that it can be done.  New specialty cut flower varieties and refined growing practices are making it possible to grow beautiful flowers in our climate zones.

We are very pleased to be able to cultivate flower varieties that may not be as conducive to transportation or that do not need to be treated with chemicals to maintain storage for months in cold rooms. We can now cultivate these right here in our Maritime climate and offer you the experience to discover and enjoy fresh and beautiful flowers.

We care about the environment and the effect of global warming. We believe in utilizing sustainability methods in an effort to protect our environment and live in harmony with nature.  We practice crop diversity and utilize a natural integrated pest management approach. For example, we need to cover dahlia buds with organza bags in order to prevent insect damage. It is more work, but we live on the land we grow, we drink the water from a well, we have neighbours and we grow extra flowers to share with the bees, the butterflies and even for those nuisance insects.

We encourage you to connect more with local growers and be mindful of where your food and flowers come from.  We are members of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.  Click on their link localflowers.org to find local flower growers in Atlantic Canada and neighbouring provinces.
